Onto today’s message:

Some of you might be old enough to remember when your CV was your golden ticket to success.

Well, times have changed.

In 2024, you need this instead…

Back in the day, your resume was your ticket to the big leagues.

But now? It's all about how you show up online.

Whether it's your social media profiles, your blog, or your LinkedIn page, your digital footprint speaks volumes about who you are.

Let's face it, in today's digital age, first impressions are often made online.

That means your digital presence can make or break your professional reputation.

So, it's crucial to put your best foot forward and make sure your online persona reflects the image you want to portray.

Your digital footprint isn't just about showcasing your achievements; it's also about building credibility and trust.

Potential employers, clients, and collaborators are likely to Google you before they even meet you.

What they find online can either boost your credibility or raise red flags.

But your digital footprint isn't just about what you post; it's also about what others say about you.

Reviews, comments, and endorsements all add to your online reputation.

That's why it's essential to actively manage your online presence and engage with your audience.

And let's not forget about the power of storytelling.

Your digital footprint allows you to share your story, showcase your expertise, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Blog posts, videos, or social media updates can help you stand out in a crowded online world.

Your digital footprint is your new resume.

In today's digital age, how you show up online can have a significant impact on your professional success.

So, take it seriously, curate your online presence thoughtfully, and make sure it's sending the right message about who you are and what you have to offer.

3 Tips

Begin with The End in Mind: Popularized by Stephen Covey in his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, beginning with the end in mind is a great way to think about your mission, whether for a specific project or for your life as a whole.

Whatever it is you’re planning, start at the end. What is it that you want to do or see happen? Be specific here and make it measurable.

Focused Goals: What I’ve mentioned before about prioritizing daily tasks applies to long-term goals, too. Prioritize your top three goals based on your mission, then make daily progress on each of those goals.

Even if it’s only a few minutes a day, this practice will ensure you make progress on your long-term goals despite more urgent but shorter-term goals.

Practice: When we want to get better at cooking or playing an instrument, we practice. Why not practice the skills you use to produce income?

If you’re a copywriter, practice writing good copy, even if nobody ever sees it. Get your (correctly performed) reps in however you can, whatever your skill is, and the quality of your craft will increase.

1 Book

The Power of Habit, by Charles Duhigg: This is a popular book in the self-improvement space for a reason.

While some of the studies and science behind habits can be a little cumbersome, they’re worth working through to understand what people are capable of when it comes to habits.
